Tom`s BBQ Chicago Style in Tempe

My first time here the bbq was good! The brisket was tender and the Potato salad was great as well. But I was expecting fresh Macaroni and cheese um not store bought Shells and cheese I could make that myself.

Great food, but it really isn't the same since Billie left. I'd be a lot more inclined to eat here more (like I used to) if Billie came back. The environment is just not right anymore.

I stopped in for the BBQ but once I saw the Italian Beef sammich I went for that (pic attached). The sandwich was really good, especially with the giardiniera (ask for them if you like spice)! My kids had some BBQ ribs and a brownie but didn't save me any so i'll assume they liked it too.

This is my favorite Chicago style bbq restraint in all of Phoenix. I have been coming for years, and am never disappointed. The meat is cooked to perfection, and the flavor is wonderful. I highly recommend this place, and enjoy introducing friends to it.

Really good barbecue, my fave is the pulled pork sandwich with curley fries or onion rings. Really good service as well, always friendly!

Silence this. Terrible food, the price is way out of line with quality. Furthermore the quality in question is horrid. Over $20 for "burnt ends" that was actually cubed and baked top round, if it was smoked I didn't taste it.

Very gross, my meat was under cooked and I paid $104.42 for a good meal, my first time was a bad experience beans were old, they didn't put enough BBQ sauce on my brisket, ribs and pulled pork let alone my ribs was raw and got my money back.. I recommend you check your food before you bite in.

I ordered from Postmates and the sandwich was ok(pulled pork). The fries however had a weird taste that was not appetizing. I didn't know you can mess up french fries.. and I ordered there brownie without walnuts and even wrote a note that I have a allergy but behold I received a brownie with walnuts. I use to come here but I think this restaurant has gone down hill on quality.

Everyone needs to come here for BBQ! We came because we had a coupon, but we definitely will be coming back. The pulled pork was so juicy and the BBQ sauce had the perfect kick. It is amazing!

The food was ok, the sides we're very small and I feel like most of it is pre cooked or frozen. I was kinda upset cause I wanted Mac and Cheese as a side but some how they ran out and only had "Mac and Cheese with jalapeno". Doesn't make a lot of sense if your "making it fresh".

I read all the good reviews and decided to try this place. I got an Italian beef and it wasn’t bad however I also got a side of fries that were hard as a rock. & the western burger disgusting. I don’t know if we decided to try them on a bad night. But it’s our last. On top of that the customer service I received (when I called back to inform them of the experience we had) was awful.

The lady at the counter deserves 5 stars alone, without ever tasting their food. She is so personable and friendly like she has known you for years. When I asked about the fish she said it was the best fish I'll ever eat and it did not disappoint. The tarta sauce is even homemade. I wish I had taken a picture but I will definitely be getting it again soon and adding the picture. Everything here is made fresh daily and I'm sure whatever you choose will have you coming back. I love family owned businesses, they treat you like family

Amazing food and service was outstanding!!

Mask wearing by cashier was terrible, under nose offf her face back on. In 7 min. She did this 3-5 times. No excuse

Brisket was great. Service was amazing.

Not as good as they used to be. Now limit you to just one kind of barbeque sauce and only a little white paper cup of it. Used to be able to use both kinds of sauce and wasn't limited. We moved over by them, so wished they were better. I will go back to the place that is much better for my barbeque from now on, even though they are farther away.

I have always loved this place the best coleslaw ever! Not to mention really good BBQ, also on Fridays they have an awesome fish fry, and they r also Chicago fans there.

Their fish is golden literally, and the coleslaw is fresh. Love this place

Reasonable prices, nice portions, and delicious food.

This was not a good experience all the way around. The service was horrible. The lady at the register said she has been here 9 months but didn't know the menu or how the food was prepared. The cooks were in the back talking in a circle while there was line of people waiting. My food came out cold. Everything else was hot. The brisket is very dry and I believe the burnt ends were deep fried. I asked for the peach cobbler and she brought back something soupy with crushed bread crumbs on the top. Tables were left dirty and the bathroom was too. The restaurant is outdated and I am not sure how they are still open.

Tried this spot randomly off of a friends recommendation. The mac n cheese was out of this world. The potato salad almost met my grandmas but not quite. We all enjoyed our lunch sandwiches and fish and chips. Thank you for being open and serving up yummy BBQ and sides!

Very delicious food. I only gave 4 stars because they can use some improvement on there side dishes. Potatoesalad is good but the red beans and coleslaw need improvement.

Great BBQ, and the smoked turkeys at Thanksgiving are THE BEST in town! This will be my 2nd year enjoying their delicious turkeys! Great service, too!

Huge disappointment! Overcharged, paid $15 for fish & chips, menu states it's $9.99. Served with dark greasy/soggy fries. They made the food while I was there, I know it wasn't sitting around. Had to throw half the food away. I want to support small businesses during this pandemic, but I will not go back to this place. ---Side note: I was in the restaurant business years ago, and I knew time I saw the fries, they are not changing the oil in the fryer, that's why fries come out dark and soggy.

Love this place for some good Chicago style BBQ . The smell will make your mouth water the second you walk in the door,great for lunch or dinner and open 7 days a week.

We heated to try something different so we stopped by for lunch. Food tasted great. I had a nice hearty burger which was delicious. It was our first time here but it felt as though the lady at the register was my 2nd mom from Chicago. Felt right at home, eating here.

The cashier needs to take a training class on CUSTOMER SERVICE. Horrible attitude

I go there at least twice a month, today I got a full slab meal, me ribs were great as usual, but I didn’t notice the sides till I got home and was not able to go back today, I got small servings of beans, cole slaw and mac and cheese, I ordered a meal, got the one person small sides for a full slab, slaw and mac and cheese are not fresh, not sure if I’ll go back, Maybe I’ll wait till everything opens up again.

The attraction of Tom’s was definitely the all you can eat fish dinner on Fridays! Brought my visiting family and unfortunately that’s gone. Pretty good BBQ but I won’t be returning until the all you can eat fish Friday’s come back. At least for lent maybe as a suggestion? I’m okay with a couple extra bucks for the option. The fish dinner is fantastic regardless though!!

Very good. The bbq almost did not need any sauce, and everything was cooked beautifully.

Good weekend lunch with friends, ordered the hot link sandwich which was delicious. Would probably skip getting BBQ sauce on the sandwich next time, it didn't really need it. Mashed potatoes & gravy tasted nothing like any other mashed potato I've ever had in my life, not really sure what that flavor was; recommend getting a different side. Quick efficient service in a clean restaurant.

It was yuck today. The catfish plate with hard, greasy fries. I know better. The didn't care today. Hope to hear from the family soon.

I am not a bbq fan my bf wanted to come here. We split a 2 meat pulled pork and ribs with mashed potatoes and fried zucchini. Wow the ribs were juicy and the pork was great the zucchini was fresh and HOT even the side of ranch was amazing. We both ate and had left over pork.

I always get the fish... i really enjoy the taste of it.. it's always hot... i usually get the hand cut fries... and fried mushrooms! I have been there 3 times within the last month. So i have tried mac and cheese which is good, and I have also had the fried zucchini which is fire .. it's so much food here I will have to try that beef brisket!

Excellent as usual. We ate in this time, quaint feel. I tried the fish, very good. My cousin's first time, he had the beef Italian sandwich, looked good and he confirmed that. My so got his usual, pulled pork sandwich, which is always great! Their coleslaw tastes homemade. Anyway, great place that we will continue to dine at. Check them out, you will not be disappointed 👍

Food is decent but they bait and switched me. I don't like thatEdit - I mean the "Special" price you had on the easel out front on the sidewalk was not the price I was charged at the register. I asked about that and the cashier had attitude. So I just ate and left and have never been back. -hope this helps...several complaints about her in your reviews

The food was okay. The pulled pork was more like mushed pork. The BBQ beans were good but would've been better if the beans were soaked first. The potato salad was excellent, no complaints. I think if I ever visit here again I'll go with the fried shrimp.

First timer last night & it was an exceptional experience! First off the guys that was working the register was amazing!! He answered all of my family’s questions helped us decide what to get & we also connected on come from the east coast. I wish we could of gotten his name but I don’t remember his saying. He had perfect customer service. The food by the way was delicious. My family & I will definitely be back soon!! I also wish I thought of top the guy but we just having such a great conversation that didn’t even think about it. 😕

Absolutely disgusting peach cobbler. They should be ashamed to even call this a peach cobbler. We had it delivered to the house and it was a grey gelatin blob. We had to warm it up ourselves, and it was awful. More like a peach pudding then anything cobbler.

The pull pork was great. Can't wait to go back.

It's an unassuming little spot in a strip mall, but the food is great! Portions are good and the meat is well cooked. It's perfect for a hungry traveler. The chicken breast was just what I needed after a long day of flying. The green beans with pork bits were well-seasoned. The potatoes were good as well. It's a nice piece of the Midwest in the midst of the Southwest.If you're looking for some great BBQ, this is the place to visit. We had their pork sandwich, tri-tip, fried chips, fries, & friend zucchini...let's just say all were very tasty!!! Downfall, a small restaurant, desperately needing some remodeling. Overall, great location & food!
